Storm front came through about 6pm tonight. Lots of banging, blowing, shredding, flashing and clapping. The ACD has never seen/heard a storm like it. Toddler Tom didn't like it. But over very quickly, no damage here - only 3mm but freshened everything up a little. Oh, but did worry me that everything from Marburg, meaning lots of nice little viral particles, might have ended up in our backyard today! Well, see if we get temps midweek or so.
No EI tonight, though temps up a bit when taken around 4-5pm because the ambient temp of the day was hot - mid thirties at least.
Keema - 38.2 (was a bit antsy this afternoon, thought I was going to catch Touchwood and take his temp, which I did, smart girl).
Touchwood - 38.9 (same as yesterday, remembering foal temp little higher normally)
Noah - 37.7
Amazzon 37.6 & 37.8 (taken at same time with second digital thermometer, hmmmm)
Bartie - 38.1
Frontier - 37.9
Lucky - 37.6 & 37.8 (same difference of 0.2 degree with other thermometer).
All well this evening. Washed Pazzy's legs of all the sticky (wasted) colostrum this arvo - pretty sure she's not going to foal tonight. The Magic Breed foal alarm certainly would earn its keep at a time like this. Bugger for not having the unit, only a responder, at this a most crucial time. Foal still alive and kicking in situ though and is a good 319 days tomorrow. Only one more after that until the magic 320....and the placentitis might just have given the foal a bit of a kick along in the maturity stakes.
Goodnight all, post some more pix of something uplifting tomorrow and a copy of David Lovell's discussion paper. A most interesting document. Cheers!!!!
