We need a lucky shamrock here badly!

I think that's a four leaf clover, but I could be wrong.......

This morning has been like a steam train. No foals but it's all go here. Horses still normal here, but am suspicious of the neighbour's horses. I thought it was only the really old pony that was coughing, which he might be want to do anyway. But the other two were coughing a spluttering a bit when I was out there before. No sign of any snot dragons yet though.....

Our fellas still all looking remarkably healthy considering we're now surrounded.

So straight down to Anstead, in the middle of the absolute red hot zone, for Regumate this morning - then went an purchased all sorts of disinfectant spray and wipes from Belbowrie. Then sprayed ourselves and the car to death at the gate when we got back, doing the mandatory "inhalation" on the way home...& blowing my nose to bits as well. I kid you not.

Raced home Regumate into Pazzy. No foal still, thank goodness. Still the the sticky hind legs. Holding. This is the fourth day since waxing so maybe there is a hope we still might get passed Day 320, temp 37.7. After my revised estimate yesterday she is Day 315 today. So fingers crossed the trimeth-sulpha and progesterone treatment does the trick.

When got home, Keema definitely waxed and starting to drip milk. So......right on schedule because in the past this has meant foaling tonight. Not much sleep here tonight. Keema btw looks absolutely fabulous. Never seen her looking better. Her registered name is Kemal Sweet Dreams (Arabesque Balios x Kemal Sweet Miracle) and she is in foal to resident Kholonial stallion Abrock Noah (Abrock Springfire x Santarabia Nola)....see http://www.kholonial.piczo.com/ for her page.

Then not long I arrive home a phone call from Sonya - calling from the Wesley Hospital IN BED ON A MORPHINE DRIP. Turns out she's got a gall bladder problem, no wonder she had pains in the belly yesterday. They were trying to fit her into the surgery schedule today but no luck. The Ryan horses are still temping away normally and one of her biggest concerns was the fact that she was indisposed made it difficult to look after them if they now did get EI. Sandra's now on the job - onya Sandra.

Kalkadoon are plodding along, heard from Karen yesterday afternoon. All a bit miserable and Karen trying to get hold of all sorts of ancillary therapies for them.

Steel Poppy, foals all a bit miserable today. Bayeaux not eating. Replenished the bute paste supplies morning. Pregnant mares and stallion still not ill. Jan also on antibiotics because of a kick to the leg while taking a horse temp - rang this morning and said reeks like "Gangrene" - and couldn't get a Doctor's appointment. I said "What?" Go to Kenmore! As luck would have it Jan got the same doctor again that saw her when her leg was literally about to explode the last time. This time leg infected but not to be chopped off yet! Thank goodness. So now she's loaed with meds of every description.

Then Ann from Hyksos emails that somehow she has scored vaccinations by landing in the lap of the GODs in the buffer zone for NSW (near Armidale). Though some of her horses will be vaccinated and others won't because of locations. Also information that if any foal is born on or after the day of the vaccinations it will be done as well. Which is interesting, though makes sense. The vaccine won't be a problem in the foal b/c there is no way there could be antibodies from the colostrum in the system to interfere with vaccination anyway. We're no where near that lucky here. Way to go Ann.

Hot here today too, my computer is telling me that it is 33C in Ipswich today.
Temps this arvo:
Keema 37.3
Noah 37.7
Paz 37.7
Amazzon 37.5
Bartie 37.3
Frontier 37.8
Lucky 37.5
